Worship from Chorley & Adlington 14/6/20

Image is a still from the start of worship, it shows both church logos, the date of the service and lists the readings

This week’s service is led by Revd Martin Whiffen with contributions from members of the congregation.

As always, you can watch this service wherever you like as it will be available for a couple of weeks, but you may like to watch it at 10am (Adlington folk), 10.30am (Chorley folk) so that you are worshipping together.

A DVD will be available soon – please let us know if you or anyone you know would like to be added to the distribution list.

I have also attached a PDF of the words used in the service for you to use at home if you can’t get YouTube or don’t enjoy using it.

If you would like to contribute to our worship, please let Martin know.

We need people willing to do Bible readings, prayers (which can be written by you or provided be me) or maybe to read a poem, piece of prose or article you have found particularly helpful at this time.

If anyone fancied offering an address in a week or two, that also would be really welcome

  1. Thank you very much for a lovely service. I have “visited” various churches during lockdown including Clitheroe URC and Christchurch, Litttle Heath Potters Bar, and I belong to Haslington URC, Cheshire, which is very small with most members well over 60 (including myself!). I live at Sandbach, so normally cycle the 2 1/2 miles to church, as Hope St URC in Sandbach closed in the early 90s then for several years I went to Alsager URC, nearly 5 miles away but transferred to Haslington as I couldn’t cope with dazzling headlights for meetings or other evening events. Long ago I lived for many happy years at Colne where my father was minister at Dockray St Congregational Church. It was good to hear the lovely Lancashire accengt again. Your service was not only lovely, it was inspiring. Thank you.
