As we come out of the third Covid lockdown, isolation and loneliness are more widespread than ever. The Meeting Place is a response to this need for connection and community. The Meeting Place will be a hub in the heart of Chorley where everyone is welcome to come for a brew, a biscuit and a chat.
Launching on the 19th of May, The Meeting Place will be open from 10am-2pm every Wednesday and Thursday. As well as refreshments there will be activities to get involved in, including craft, games and gardening. As we launch we’ll be concentrating on listening to anyone who comes in and letting those conversations shape The Meeting Place as it develops.
Although we’re still bound by some Covid restrictions we’ll be providing a warm welcome and the chance to meet new people. As well as indoor space at Chorley URC, we have the courtyard area too. At the moment this area houses a play area and the bins and goes unused for much of the week. We plan to transform it into a green, friendly space that’s used by the community as somewhere to meet, to grow together and relax.
