Chorley URC are proud to hold a bronze eco church award from A-rocha UK. Eco church awards recognise churches that want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth.
The award looks at how sustainable premises are, what churches teach on creation and the environment and actions that churches take to make themselves more environmentally friendly.
At Chorley URC we have made our Sanctuary much more sustainable with a new heating system and have plans to bring the rest of our buildings up to spec. We have also begun to improve our gardens, we now compost food and garden waste on site and are working to increase biodiversity with a wider range of planting and by creating habitats.
