Fed up of the throwaway society? Stuck with items that you’d like to be able to fix but don’t know how to? Then Chorley Repair Cafe is for you.
Chorley Repair Cafe is a new project being developed by our Church Related Community Minister, Andy. The cafe will meet every second Saturday in the Church Halls from 10-12. People who want to fix things but can’t or don’t know how to will meet people with tools and knowledge and together they’ll fix things, save items from going to landfill and talk in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
As well as getting things fixed and saving them going to landfill this is a chance for valuable craft and repair skills to be passed on and for people to meet and chat over a cup of tea and toolbox or sewing machine.
You can find out more about the international Repair Cafe movement. Follow us on Facebook for the latest updates or contact Andy if you want to know more or get involved.
We’re always looking for volunteers to repair electricals, electronics, furniture, clothes and fabrics and bicycles or to meet and greet people as they come in.
